Football Game Preview: Bellaire Big Reds vs. Union Local Jets

The Bellaire Big Reds will head out on the road to challenge the Union Local Jets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bellaire has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Union Local will arrive with five straight wins.

Bellaire blew Harrison Central out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Harrison Central got their revenge. The Big Reds fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 29-26. While the Big Reds didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 12-0 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Bellaire had strong showings from Kole Gonglik, who picked up 192 receiving yards and one TD, and Michael Dippel, who threw for 253 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Gonglik showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 50 yards.

Meanwhile, Union Local never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Buckeye Local 42-0. The result was nothing new for the Jets, who have now won five games by 25 points or more so far this season.

Bellaire's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Union Local, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Bellaire took a serious blow against Union Local in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 50-18. Can the Big Reds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
