Recap: Calvary Saints vs. Tri-City Tornadoes
The Calvary Saints put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Tri-City 73-41 at home. Considering Calvary has won five matchups by more than 22 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Calvary to victory were Connor Brown and Luke Blackford. Brown scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Blackford scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Blackford has scored at least 25% of Calvary's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Long, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Tri-City still got an impressive performance from Gage Shafer, who scored 17 points. Collin Cramer was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Calvary pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points per game. As for Tri-City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary and Bunker Hill will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bunker Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 673rd, while Calvary is ranked 203rd). Tri-City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Williamsville at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Williamsville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.8 points per game.
