Volleyball Recap: Garner Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Smithfield-Selma last Thursday, Garner came back down to earth. The Trojans lost 3-0 to the Cleveland Rams on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11, 25-14.

Pamela Guzman paced Garner's offense, picking up six kills. Guzman got some help from Elli Pittman and her 14 assists.

Cleveland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Evans led the charge by getting nine digs and five aces. Evans is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last 49 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Allie Bogle, who had 16 kills and 12 digs.

Garner's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Cleveland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Garner will challenge South Garner at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cleveland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against D.H. Conley on the 1st.
