Putnam Valley got themselves on the board against Haldane on Wednesday, but Haldane never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 14-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by nine runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Eli Pierce's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Putnam Valley got a big performance out of Louis Peduto, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that Peduto has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Constantino, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

The victory (which was Putnam Valley's sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Haldane, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Putnam Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
