Softball Game Preview: Westerville Central Warhawks vs. Pickerington North Panthers

The Westerville Central Warhawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Pickerington North Panthers at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Westerville Central came up short against New Albany and fell 6-2. The Warhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pickerington North challenged Lincoln on Wednesday. The Panthers came up short against the Lions, falling 12-4.

Pickerington North saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sami Whitcraft, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those runs were Whitcraft's first of the season.

Pickerington North dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Westerville Central, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Westerville Central skirted past Pickerington North 6-5 in their previous meeting last Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
