Baseball Recap: Annapolis Comes Up Short

Annapolis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to the South River Seahawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seahawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 back in March.

Colin Bashor was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Will Goulet was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Annapolis' record is now 3-13. As for South River, their record now sits at 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Annapolis will welcome Southern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South River, they will host Severn Run at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Seahawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
