Basketball Recap: Gouverneur Comes Up Short

Gouverneur was the 51-49 winner over General Brown when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the Gouverneur Wildcats and the General Brown Lions didn't end well, with the Gouverneur Wildcats falling 61-47. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why Gouverneur lost on Saturday, don't look at Raine Rumble. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. The game was Rumble's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Kaleb Platt was another key player, putting up ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Gouverneur and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for General Brown, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-7.

Gouverneur will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harrisville at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st. General Brown has already played their next contest (against Watertown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
