Volleyball Recap: Hoover Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Hoover and Hewitt-Trussville squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Hoover had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 3-2. The Buccaneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Hoover took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-27, 22-25, 25-20, 15-11.

When it comes to explaining why Hoover lost, don't look at Addison Jenkins. Despite the final result, she had 19 assists and 12 digs. Jenkins is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Hoover has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-24 record this season. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they pushed their record up to 21-11 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Hoover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bob Jones on the 22nd.
