Basketball Game Preview: Green Oaks Giants vs. D'Arbonne Woods

The Green Oaks Giants will square off against D'Arbonne Woods at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Green Oaks was fully in charge, breezing past Loyola College Prep 64-35. Given the Giants' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Flyers are ranked 930th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask D'Arbonne Woods). They managed a 74-70 win over Magnolia School of Excellence on Friday. Winning may never get old, but D'Arbonne Woods sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

D'Arbonne Woods' victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Green Oaks, their win bumped their record up to 10-18.

Green Oaks was able to grind out a solid victory over D'Arbonne Woods when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 53-43. Will Green Oaks repeat their success, or does D'Arbonne Woods have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
