Football Recap: Dylan Washick's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Monett over Lamar

Monett made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lamar, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cubs fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 27-24 on Friday. The game marked the Cubs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Cubs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Washick, who threw for 232 yards and a pair of TDs. 100 of those passing yards were hauled in by Alex Meeks, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Monett suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Lamar, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Monett has already played their next matchup, a 48-46 defeat against Cassville on the 17th. As for Lamar, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-20 win against Aurora on the 17th.
