Baseball Recap: Big Spring Comes Up Short

Big Spring was the 2-0 winner over Merkel when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Steers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-3 to the Badgers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Steers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caden Reynoso made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Big Spring's loss dropped their record down to 6-11-1. As for Merkel, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Big Spring will stay at home for another game and welcome Pecos at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Merkel, they will face off against Coahoma at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Badgers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
