The Corsicana Tigers will square off against the Wilson Wildcats on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Corsicana 2.6, Wilson 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Meanwhile, Wilson had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Leopards. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Jesus Fermines made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Juan ?JD? Arranda was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Daniel Gonzalez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Wilson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adamson only posted an OBP of .263.
Wilson pushed their record up to 22-6-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Corsicana, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-1 record this season.
Corsicana took their victory against Wilson in their previous meeting back in February of 2021 by a conclusive 14-1 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
