Volleyball Recap: George Washington Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northeast, George Washington was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Thomas A. Edison Owls by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

George Washington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-21, 25-23, 25-23.

When it comes to explaining why Thomas A. Edison lost, don't look at Jeremy Dejesus-Perez. Despite the final result, he had 21 digs and four aces. Dejesus-Perez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

George Washington now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Thomas A. Edison, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.

George Washington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Central on the 1st. As for Thomas A. Edison, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Downingtown East on the 29th.
