Baseball Recap: Meadowdale Comes Up Short

Meadowdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 last Thursday.

Meadowdale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meadowdale's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Archbishop Murphy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadowdale will square off against Mountlake Terrace at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Archbishop Murphy, they will face off against Lynnwood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lynnwood has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.57 runs per game on average), something Archbishop Murphy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
