Volleyball Game Preview: Gateway Olympians vs. George Washington Patriots

The Gateway Olympians are taking a road trip to challenge the George Washington Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gateway is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Gateway came up short against Vista PEAK Prep on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Gateway was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Vista PEAK Prep's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-13, 25-16.

Meanwhile, George Washington came into Friday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Kennedy 3-0 last Friday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant George Washington was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-14.

Gateway better focus on containing Danial Dehno and Phillip Abad as the pair were huge in George Washington's win. Dehno had eight digs and four aces, while Abad had nine assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Dehno has posted since back in February.

Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for George Washington, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
