Softball Recap: San Antonio Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Poteet

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Antonio Christian). They blew past the Poteet Aggies 22-11 on Friday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Lions, who until this matchup were averaging 3.3 runs allowed.

Taytum Robert was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Anjie Meza, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

San Antonio Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .707. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

San Antonio Christian's record now sits at 6-4. As for Poteet, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Antonio Christian will face off against Saint Mary's Hall at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. San Antonio Christian's pitchers better be ready for this one: Saint Mary's Hall has averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Poteet, they will take on Jourdanton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
