Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Warren walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warren East Raiders on Wednesday, sneaking past 8-7. Eight seems to be a good number for the Spartans as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

South Warren is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Warren East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season.
