For the first time this season, Florida Christian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will head out to square off against the Chaminade-Madonna Lions at 3:30 p.m. Florida Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Florida Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Sunset on Friday. Florida Christian blew past Sunset 14-4. With that win, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Alexi Ramirez looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Andrew Sanchez was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Suarez, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Florida Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Chaminade-Madonna sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Everglades on Monday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
AJ Vargas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
In other pitching news, Manny Delaosa looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.
Vargas wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trace Zalman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. John Scott Bishop was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Florida Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Chaminade-Madonna, their record is now 9-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Florida Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chaminade-Madonna struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
