Baseball Recap: South Wins Going Away Against Wiseburn- Da Vinci

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Torrance, South was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves 11-2. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Peter Broughton tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Cody Pierson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Leland Ingraham was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

South now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-8.

South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
