Basketball Game Preview: Penn Kingsmen vs. Chesterton Trojans

Having just played yesterday, the Penn Kingsmen will get right back to it and host the Chesterton Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Penn is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Michigan City 64-47 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Kingsmen with their most commanding win of the season.

Penn got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Coolman out in front who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Alexander Hawthorne, who put up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Chesterton ended up a good deal behind East Chicago Central on Tuesday and lost 72-57.

The win made it two in a row for Penn and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Chesterton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Penn was able to grind out a solid victory over Chesterton in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 54-44. Does Penn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chesterton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
