Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Briar Woods

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Briar Woods ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They beat Independence by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on three straight.

Caprice Bohmer spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Briar Woods' win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Anannya Jadhav, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Briar Woods pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Independence, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.

As of now, neither Briar Woods nor Independence have any future games scheduled.
