How the Vaqueros got here: The Vaqueros won the Grossmont Hills League and the San Diego Section Division II title. They beat Mt. Carmel (San Diego), Brawley and Rancho Bernardo (San Diego) in the playoffs, before crushing a very good Paso Robles team 41-0 in the regional finals. The Vaqueros had a 31-0 lead by halftime, scoring on a pass, run, punt return and interception return.

Who got them here: Brad Cagle passed for 2,650 yards and 29 touchdowns and D.J. Smith is the featured running back at 1,195 yards and 19 touchdowns, though Cagle (500 yards, 8 TDs) can run too. Isaiah Capoocia (59 catches, 941 yards, 15 TDs) is a weapon at receiver. Smith also leads the team in tackles (124) with 16 of them for losses. El Capitan has recorded 59 sacks. James Owen leads the way with 12 sacks while Robby Callaway and Joseph Lachappa have 8.5 apiece.

Their bowl history: El Capitan has never played in a Bowl Game.

How the Cougars got here: The Cougars won the Diablo Foothill League title and won the North Coast Section Division III crown. They beat Ygnacio Valley (Concord), Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa), Analy (Sebastopol) and Marin Catholic (Kentfield) in the playoffs, before a resounding 35-14 win over previously unbeaten Sutter. The Cougars scored the final 35 unanswered.

Who got them here: Jack Stephens has passed for 3,273 yards and 33 touchdowns and Nick Fadelli is probably the program's best running back with 1,814 yards and 32 touchdowns. Big play receiver Max Flower (51 catches, 1,000 yards, 11 TDs) has been nursing a sore shoulder, but the team's top player is USC-bound tight end Tyler Petite, who averages almost 30 yards per catch among his 30 with nine TDs. Senior FB-LB-WR Adam Remotto does a lot of everything. Kevin Hull has eight sacks.

Their bowl history: Campolindo lost the 2011 Division III Bowl to Washington Union (Fresno). Stephens, Petite and Remotto were brought up from the freshman team in that game.
