Newington entered their tilt with New Britain on Wednesday with two consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed  a  41-37 win over the New Britain Golden Hurricanes. The Nor'easters have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Hurricanes, too.
 Newington had a senior duo take command as  Kendall Miller  posted 16  points and five  boards and  Hope Romanello  had eight points and eight  rebounds. Miller has been hot recently, having also posted two or more  steals the last three times she's  played.  Haylie Sanchez was another key player,  putting up six  points and four  steals.
Newington pushed their record up to 9-6 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for New Britain, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record  this season.
 Newington and New Britain should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings. Newington will  challenge  Wethersfield  at 6:45  p.m.  on Friday up  79 places (28 vs. 107). Similarly,  New Britain (ranked 32nd) will meet Middletown (ranked 109th)  at 5:15  p.m.  on Friday.
