Basketball Game Preview: Dunseith Dragons vs. Bottineau Braves/Stars

The Dunseith Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Bottineau Braves/Stars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Dunseith has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Bottineau will arrive with three straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Dunseith came up short against Nedrose and fell 63-52.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Bottineau beat New Town 61-57 on Tuesday. Given the Braves/Stars' advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Eagles are ranked 61st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bottineau pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Dunseith, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Dunseith took a serious blow against Bottineau in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 58-21. Can Dunseith avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
