Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Cowan

While Cowan's victory against Muncie Burris wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blackhawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Owls a 1-0 shutout on Monday. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Owls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Luke Garrett, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Muncie Burris off the board.

On the hitting side, Thomas Brooks was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those hits were his first of the season.

Cowan's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.8 runs this season. As for Muncie Burris, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cowan will venture away from home to square off against Randolph Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blackhawks are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Muncie Burris, they will head out to take on Seton Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Owls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
