Baseball Recap: Kuna Drops Season-High Score on Pocatello

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kuna). They blew past the Pocatello Thunder 12-2 on Saturday. While the Kavemen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jackson Edwards was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Kuna's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kam Gordon, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Kuna kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Kuna's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-3. As for Pocatello, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Kuna will be taking part in a tournament against Nampa at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Nampa has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Pocatello, they are taking a road trip to square off against Twin Falls at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pocatello's pitchers better be ready for this one: Twin Falls has averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
