Softball Game Preview: Winter Springs Bears vs. Timber Creek Wolves

The Winter Springs Bears will head out to square off against the Timber Creek Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Winter Springs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Timber Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Winter Springs is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Lake Howell just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Silverhawks by a score of 5-4.

Katelyn Wassey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Lake Howell hit Timber Creek with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves came up short against the Silverhawks, falling 12-1. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Timber Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Klein, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Winter Springs' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 16-8. As for Timber Creek, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Winter Springs took their victory against Timber Creek in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
