Baseball Recap: Cate Victorious

While Cate's win against Ojai Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams won by a run and slipped past the Spuds 9-8. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Spuds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Chase Meyer was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Henry Schneider was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Ojai Valley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-3.

Cate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ojai Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hillcrest Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
