Volleyball Recap: Johnny Berman and Neko Freedner-Maguire Secure Win for Mt. Mansfield

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Essex, Mt. Mansfield was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the South Burlington Wolves with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 2nd.

Mt. Mansfield not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept South Burlington between 14 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-14, 25-17.

Mt. Mansfield was led to victory by Neko Freedner-Maguire and Johnny Berman. Freedner-Maguire had seven kills and one block, while Berman had four blocks and two aces. Those two aces gave Berman a new career-high.

Mt. Mansfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for South Burlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Mansfield will take on Bellows Free Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Burlington, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rice Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
