Football Game Preview: Downers Grove North Trojans vs. Lyons Lions + How To Watch

Downers Grove North hasn't had much luck against Lyons recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trojans will head out to take on the Lions at 7:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Downers Grove North 13.1, Lyons 14.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Downers Grove North is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: York, who was ranked 21st at the time (Downers Grove North was ranked tenth). The Trojans came out on top against the Dukes by a score of 41-28 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, Lyons made easy work of Oak Park-River Forest on Friday and carried off a 32-6 win. Considering the Lions have won three games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Downers Grove North better keep an eye on Tyler Stamm. He was instrumental in Lyons' win, throwing for 178 yards and two TDs on only 13 passes, while also catching one score.

Downers Grove North's record is now 6-1. As for Lyons, their record now sits at 5-2.

Downers Grove North and Lyons were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but Downers Grove North suffered an agonizing 21-20 loss. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
