Softball Recap: Valley Central Wins Going Away Against Monticello

Valley Central waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Monticello Panthers get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. That 17-run margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.

Valley Central got a massive performance out of Samantha Hall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Hall a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shannon Hamilton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Valley Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups.

Valley Central's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Monticello, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Valley Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monticello, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-0 defeat against Minisink Valley on the 20th.
