Softball Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-2 to the IC Catholic Prep Knights. If the Blazers were looking for revenge after losing 9-5 to the Knights when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Maddie Trendel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. Soleila Arroyo also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for IC Catholic Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Trinity will square off against DePaul College Prep at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for IC Catholic Prep, they will challenge Aurora Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
