Basketball Recap: Cleveland Hill Comes Up Short

Cleveland Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Salamanca Warriors, falling 74-33. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 895th, while the Warriors are ranked 139th).

When it comes to explaining why Cleveland Hill lost, don't look at Javier Nelson. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points and four steals. Nelson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Cleveland Hill's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Salamanca, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.
