Recap: Valley Christian Trojans vs. Boulder Creek Jaguars
On Saturday, the Valley Christian Trojans faced the Boulder Creek Jaguars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Valley Christian fell 73-66 to Boulder Creek. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (63), Valley Christian still had to take the loss.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Wallace, who scored 26 points along with four steals. The match was Wallace's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Grier, who scored 20 points.
Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Boulder Creek, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Christian and Rancho Solano Prep will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rancho Solano Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 477 points over their last seven contests. Boulder Creek and Basha will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Basha is ranked 13th, while Boulder Creek is ranked 19th).
