Basketball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 26th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Thomaston Bears, falling 76-32. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 86-35 back in January.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Thomaston, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Gilbert will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Thomaston, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-59 win against Nonnewaug on the 1st.
