Sundown is 7-2 against Tahoka since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Roughnecks will host the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Sundown has given up an average of 30.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sundown is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 35 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Ropes on Friday. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 54-8. The contest marked the Roughnecks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Tahoka never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Plains as they made off with a 22-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Sundown better keep an eye on Dante Garcia. He was instrumental in Tahoka's win, rushing for 155 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Those 155 rushing yards gave Garcia a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Uzziah Martinez, who rushed for 140 yards on only 15 carries.

Tahoka was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 412 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Tahoka's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-3. As for Sundown, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Sundown came up short against Tahoka in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 26-13. Thankfully for the Roughnecks, Brogan Stone (who threw for 117 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 59 yards and one score on only eight carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
