There's no place like home for Portola, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Loyalton Grizzlies on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won six in a row.

While Portola won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-17, 26-24.

Portola's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Loyalton, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portola will head out to take on Plumas Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Loyalton, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Herlong at 5:30 p.m. on September 11. This will be the Grizzlies' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
