Baseball Recap: Devine Wins Going Away Against John F. Kennedy

Devine not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024. They put the hurt on the John F. Kennedy Rockets with a sharp 7-1 victory. This was payback for the Warhorses, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Karter Brown and Henry Ramirez did most of the damage at the plate: Brown scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Ramirez scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Contreras, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Devine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Devine is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 8.8 hits in those games compared to only five in the others. John F. Kennedy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-5.

Devine has already played their next contest, a 2-2 tie against Hondo on the 7th. As for John F. Kennedy, they will square off against Brennan at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
