Baseball Recap: Benjamin Victorious

Benjamin lost to Schoolhouse Prep back in March of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Buccaneers came out on top against the Wolfpack by a score of 7-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Nate Swank tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on CJ Soto, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Brandon Owens, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Benjamin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory got Benjamin back to even at 9-9. As for Schoolhouse Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Benjamin will challenge Suncoast at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Schoolhouse Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against ABF Academy Homestead Black at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bandits have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.73 runs per game on average), something the Wolfpack will no doubt try to take advantage of.
