Vanguard Academy Beethoven had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They suffered a rough 42-22 defeat at the hands of Idea Academy on Tuesday. Vanguard Academy Beethoven has struggled against Idea Academy recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Idea Academy was led to victory by Paola Luna and Layla Perez. Luna dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds, while Perez dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 steals. The contest was Perez's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of America Cortez, who scored 2 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 steals.

Vanguard Academy Beethoven's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Idea Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vanguard Academy Beethoven will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Idea Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19, 2024.
