Baseball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Pillow Academy Mustangs, falling 9-1.

Independence saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Merritt Owens, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Pillow Academy, their record is now 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will welcome Myrtle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pillow Academy, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Winston Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
