Football Game Preview: Nordhoff Rangers vs. Del Sol Jaguars + Official Tickets

The Nordhoff Rangers will take on the Del Sol Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Nordhoff's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Carpinteria 49-0. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 34 points or more this season.

Michael Dennie had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 504 yards and six TDs while picking up 20.2 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 37 yards. Those 504 passing yards gave him a new career-high.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Nordhoff proved: they limited Carpinteria to a paltry -0.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Luis Gonzalez stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks and made nine total tackles (4.0 for loss). Nordhoff didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.9.

Nordhoff's defense didn't let Isaac Neri, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Gonzalez was the leader with two. He has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Elliot Sheets was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Del Sol). They blew past Santa Clara, posting a 63-13 victory.

Nordhoff's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Del Sol, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.
