Basketball Recap: Westmont Takes a Loss

If Westmont was feeling good fresh off their 64-38 takedown of Illinois Math & Science Academy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Westmont Sentinels were dealt a 77-40 loss at the hands of the Leo Lions on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Sentinels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 573rd, while the Lions are ranked 273rd).

Westmont's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Leo, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing South Shore International the next time they take the court. Leo will host South Shore International at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Westmont will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
