Abingdon/Avon won against Galva on Friday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Tornadoes had just enough and edged out the Annawan-Wethersfield Titans 13-12. Winning may never get old, but the Tornadoes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Addy Onion spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and nine unearned) runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taylor Ford, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Stegall, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Abingdon/Avon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Abingdon/Avon's record is now 8-9. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Looking ahead, Annawan-Wethersfield will be playing in front of their home fans against ROWVA/Williamsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Abingdon/Avon will be paying especially close attention to the Titans' contest: after the Titans face off against the Cougars, they'll take on Abingdon/Avon again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
