Sauk Prairie dropped their record down to 12-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell 7-4 to the Stoughton Vikings. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 10-2 to the Vikings when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Stoughton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.
For Stoughton's part, Alex Reuter looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run over four innings pitched. The Vikings are 3-1 when Reuter allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-12 otherwise.
At the plate, Logan Hedstrom was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sauk Prairie is set to face off against their familiar foe Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.6, the Crusaders 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Stoughton will take on rival Baraboo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
