Softball Recap: West Bloomfield Has No Trouble Against Kettering

West Bloomfield won the last time they faced Kettering and things went their way on Monday too. The Lakers put the hurt on the Captains with a sharp 15-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lakers.

ADDY MORRIS made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. MORRIS was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, LAIKEN CONNOR was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was CHARLIE BOWER, who went 2-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base.

West Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 3-20. As for Kettering, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Looking ahead, West Bloomfield is taking a road trip to take on Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colts have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.76 runs per game on average), something the Lakers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kettering, they will welcome Ferndale at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Captains are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
