Softball Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Riverside Warriors

The Hillcrest Rams will head out to face off against the Riverside Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Hillcrest earned a 7-2 win over Easley. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

The team relied heavily on Maria Sialmas, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Chloe Cross also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Sialmas wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Riverside got the win against Spartanburg on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-8. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Riverside has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Hillcrest, they pushed their record up to 5-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
