Baseball Preview: Moriarty Pintos vs. Hope Christian Huskies        
        
		
            Moriarty is 1-9 against Hope Christian since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Tuesday. The Moriarty Pintos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hope Christian Huskies  at 5:00  p.m. After  the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents,  one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Moriarty is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home  on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Estancia  a   10-0 shutout.
  Oscar Shuck was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing  Four bases. The team also got some help courtesy of  Raiden Scribner, who  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases.
Meanwhile, Hope Christian put another one in the bag  on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Sandia Prep as Hope Christian made off with  an  18-6 win. The  contest marked the Huskies' most dominant  victory of the  season so far.
 Caleb Pena made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Pena was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  runs.
 In other pitching news,  Jacob Gergen looked comfortable as he  struck out nine batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits (and only one walk). That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in April of 2024.
 Back at the plate,  Nolan Garcia and  Trey Baillio did most of the damage at the plate:  Garcia  went 3-for-5 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  triple, while  Baillio  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  Garcia a new career-high.  Avery Dearholt was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
 Hope Christian  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 16  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least ten  hits in three consecutive  matches.
 Moriarty suffered a grim  12-4 defeat to Hope Christian  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024. Can Moriarty avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
