Baseball Game Preview: Sullivan East Patriots vs. David Crockett Pioneers

The Sullivan East Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the David Crockett Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Sullivan East came up short against Lebanon and fell 5-2.

Sullivan East saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Hicks, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, David Crockett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Jefferson County.

Gabe Story was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Aj Ford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

David Crockett's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Sullivan East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Sullivan East suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to David Crockett when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Sullivan East avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
