Volleyball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wildwood on Saturday, Eastside came back down to earth. The Rams took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave on Saturday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Blue Wave recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Eastside's offense was headlined by Kaylee Ovia and Neeah Mewborn, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Kayana Mickens and her 11 assists. Mewborn also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Laelia Torres, racking up three apiece.

Eastside now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Eastside will square off against Dixie County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for P.K. Yonge, they will face off against Chiefland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
